What is GoFounder?
GoFounder started life as a free online platform to help start-up founders looking to start, grow or scale their business.
During that time, we worked with thousands of early stage founders through our straight-talking, down to earth resources and a supportive community – but there was one common problem that kept cropping up.
Accountability. Or, perhaps more importantly, a lack of it.
So, we decided to keep our platform free for anyone who wants to start a business (because, frankly, education should be free to all!) but to start providing a paid for service.
That paid for service?
121 Accountability coaching.
Weekly calls to help you along the way, from people who’ve actually sat where you are, struggled and succeeded.
GoFounder was founded by Eddie Whittingham in 2020, having recently had his start-up, The Defence Works, acquired by one of the world’s largest cyber-security companies in just four years (1,488 days to be precise!).
Eddie doesn’t claim to be a world famous entrepreneur but he does have a passion for business and for helping people succeed.

But, it’s fair to say, throughout his journey as a founder, Eddie hated all of the BS that goes along with starting and growing a business – especially as his social media feeds we’re crammed full of sponsored content featuring:
- cringeworthy business coaches who’ve never owned their own business
- fake overnight success strategies
- get rich quick schemes
- people pretending they’re successful, dishing out advice whilst sat in a Lamborghini they rented by the hour
- the ‘hustle’
- the ’10x’
- those giving advice on how to start a business on a shoestring… when they stated with Daddy’s millions
The truth is, the start-up scene is jam-packed with a lot of BS.
And, that’s where we come in.
At GoFounder, we’re on a mission to rid the start-up scene of the illusions of overnight success, the misconception that anyone can do it and to call out dumb stuff when we see it.
Starting a business isn’t for everyone – it shouldn’t be, it’s hard work. There are no shortcuts. No easy rides.
You knew that already though, didn’t you? Else you’d be knee deep in Gary Vee videos already.
We’re here to help those hungry for success, that recognise this won’t be a walk in the park. We’ve built our 121 accountability coaching from the ground up, specifically to help you grow with straight-talking, experienced-based insights to help you get to where you want to be, faster.
Better yet, we’re not trying to tell you about something we haven’t actually done ourselves.
